Smrekovec

Smrekovec (1577 m) is a mountain of volcanic origin in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps.

You can reach the Smrekovec Lodge (1375 m) by car or by bike, or you can hike there from Ljubno. The lodge is located below the peak of Smrekovec, on the eastern slope of the mountain. The top offers a beautiful view of Ojstrica and the surrounding mountains. In the immediate vicinity of the lodge, there is an info point about Smrekovec, its formation, rocks, fossils and local fauna and flora.

From the lodge you can follow a marked trail to the top of Smrekovec. It takes half an hour of light walk to get there and therefore the route is also suitable for elderly people and families with small children. On the top, there is a box with a register book, where you can write down the date and direction of your arrival and departure. The sightseeing platform offers a beautiful view of Carinthia, the Savinja Valley and the surrounding mountains. In July and August, you can enjoy in delicious blueberries growing along the path.
